Supreme Court orders stay on e-auction of 41 coal blocks, including 9 in Jharkhand for commercial mining till further orders
New Delhi, November 06, 2020: The Supreme Court on 6th November 2020 passed an interim order in the e-auction of 41 coal blocks, including 9 in Jharkhand for commercial mining. As coal blocks start being auctioned in Jharkhand by the Government.
The Supreme Court Bench has ordered that all these and any subsequent order of license, lease, etc shall be provisional for now, subject to final orders of the court. The court has also asked the Centre to inform all bidders about it.
After the court order, the Centre assured the court that no mining and trees will be cut in the meantime.
